Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship Division C

Ipswich v St Osyth

St Osyth won by 7 wickets

St Osyth comfortably defeated Ipswich by 7 wickets in Division C.

A young Ipswich side decided to bat first, but found run scoring tricky against the Toosey bowlers, all of whom turned in promising spells. James Bean conceded  just 11 runs in 12 overs, whilst James Handscombe took 3-27 and Harry Nightingale 2-4. Some chaotic running between the wickets accounted for no fewer than 4 Ipswich players being run out as the home side were all out for 125.

In reply, James Handscombe and Nick Shuttleworth made sure that St Osyth got off to a fluent start with an opening stand of 64 in 13 overs. Handscombe looked in good touch in making 35 whilst Shuttleworth batted assuredly for his 46 not out. He was aided by an encouraging innings from James Nightingale, who played some pleasing shots.  St Osyth reached their target with minimal alarm for the loss of 3 wickets in 24 overs.

St Osyth are sponsored this season by GCS Alarms.
