Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship Division C

Brightlingsea v St Osyth

Brightlingsea won by 1 wicket

St Osyth suffered their second set back of the weekend losing to Brightlingsea by the narrow margin of 1 wicket in Division C.

Despite another good start from by James Handscombe (42) and Nick De’ath (15) with 57 scored in 14 overs, St Osyth then lost wickets steadily and declined to 104-6. Although Scott Fraser made 29 in the second half of the innings, visiting Toosey were all out for 132.

Ross Evans collected 3 early wickets for St Osyth, whilst Alfie English made a useful 30 for Brightlingsea as the match became evenly poised. St Osyth seemed to have taken the initiative and managed to have the hosts at 105-9. However, Conrad Baker, batting at number 10, played the decisive innings with some fine drives as his 23 not out decided the match  in favour of Brightlingsea.
