Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship Division 7

Mildenhall IV v St Osyth

Mildenhall IV won by 7 wickets

St Osyth suffered another setback in Two Counties Division 7, losing by 7 wickets

at Mildenhall.

Despite an encouraging opening partnership of 61 between James Handscombe and Jason

Lloyd, St Osyth then lost 3 wickets for one run, and were then tied down by accurate bowling and

astute field placement by the hosts.

Alex Hennessy batted soundly, playing some attractive drives and was joined at 87-4, by brother Sean, who was returning to the side after injury. These two added 97 in 14 overs before Alex was out for 41 in the final over. Sean completed the the over by hitting 2 sixes to conclude in an excellent knock of 77 not out and bring St Osyth to a score of 200-5.

Mildenhall made a bright start to their innings with an opening stand of 59 before the Toosey bowlers and fielders managed to apply some pressure in the middle of the innings. However, a fine innings of 67 not out from Taha Ahmed proved to be decisive, and his partnership of 92 with James Taylor got Mildenhall over the line with 2 overs left.
